Describe your style.

Style is one of the four points of the Miss America crown and has always had a deeper meaning than the clothes I’m wearing. My style can be found in the way I present myself, beginning with the confidence I wear. My confidence shines best when my style is tailored with a dash of comfort. I love to be sharply dressed for the job of Miss North Carolina.

What trend are you loving for summer?

I’m obsessing over brightly colored jumpsuits. Nothing says summertime like a hot pink or bright yellow jumpsuit styled with a trendy sandal.

What's your go-to look when you’re not on pageant duty?

I love relaxed jeans and a cute T-shirt. Sports have always been a big part of my life, so you can catch me representing my favorite teams on game day.

As Miss North Carolina you're always asked for photos, what is your skincare regimen for flawless photos?

Girl, wash your face! I have naturally super oily skin, so a consistent routine is key. I always use oil free makeup wipes, wash with a cleanser, spray a toner, and moisturize. When it comes time to combat the oil shine, I love using setting powder to keep my makeup in place.

Name 5 things in your closet you love.

  • Christian Louboutin heels (my babies)
  • Fringe Sherri Hill cocktail dress
  • Comfy jumpsuit for travel days
  • White double-breasted suite
  • High-waisted dark blue jeans

What is your favorite brand or store at Crabtree Valley Mall?

It’s hard to name just one! Crabtree Valley Mall is such a hub for well-rounded shopping in Raleigh. I can always count on Belk, Macy’s, and New York & Co for gorgeous pieces to wear to an appearance.

What are you looking to add to your wardrobe this summer and where will you find it at Crabtree?

As I move from my role as Miss North Carolina into the new role of a professional career woman, I want to add a few more business formal pieces to my wardrobe. Lately, I’ve had my eye on a few brightly colored blazers in New York & Co.

What is your favorite beauty brand you can find at Crabtree?

Merle Norman sells high quality skin care products, gorgeous makeup, and is cruelty free. Their products are also all made in the USA!

It looks like barrettes and hair scarves are on trend this season, which one would you prefer?

Well, I can imagine the barrettes that are trending look a bit different from the ones I use to hold my crown in place. I’ll go with hair scarves. I can imagine a brightly colored scarf could turn any bad hair day around.

What style tip(s) can you give the incoming 2019 Miss North Carolina candidates?

First and foremost, wear your confidence. The job of Miss North Carolina is hardly about you and what you’re wearing. It’s about the people across the state you’re serving and how you can make them feel comfortable and connected with you. Relatability begins with style. Style with confidence and professionalism, but always remain true to your authentic self.
