THE PANTONE COLOR OF THE YEAR: LIVING CORAL
Guest Blogger - April Clark, Fashion Aficionado, Beauty, Lifestyle Blogger
Pantone has gone with a “look-on-the-bright-side” shade — Living Coral — for its 2019 color of the year. The bright hue lends itself to “playful expression and experimentation in women’s wear and men’s wear,” according to Pantone’s press material about this year’s win. “Living Coral evokes comfort and positivity in simpler color stories, and effervescence in patterned, textural and monochrome looks.” As it relates to fashion, Living Coral paired with the right coordinating colors can be a punch of color for your closet this year!
How to Pair Living Coral with other Colors for the Year
Navy Blue with Coral
Adding a touch of coral to navy outerwear is a great fashion-forward color pairing. Ladies, try adding a coral blouse under a suit for the office. Men can add a coral tie against a wool navy suit in the colder months. Coral in the winter brightens up neutrals and adds that much needed pop of color!
Coral and Yellow
Sunshine yellow sundresses paired with coral sandals is a vibrant color pallet for the break of spring. Try making coral the main color in your outfit and accessorizing with yellow accessories or a handbag. Living Coral will shine the most in the spring. Be on trend and enjoy the spring weather in this bright and cheerful color combination.
Coral and Turquoise
If summer had a color pallet coral and turquoise would be it. The turquoise and coral pairing is a vacation outfit waiting to happen. These two colors are great together when turquoise is highlighted in the jewelry or serving as an accent to coral. Also consider adding crisp white with this pallet, it will feel like South Beach in the Triangle!
Coral with Plum
Coral and plum is a warming combo, perfect for warm chunky cable knit sweaters with just about anything! A good way to incorporate this color combo is a plum sweater with a button up shirt in coral underneath. Gentlemen, try a plum sport coat and coral shirt, tie or sweater as a deep color pairing.
